Please note that this feature is only available to select customers with Epicior Eagle POS Integration.
This is one of the display options available from the Forecast Grid. The Forecast Grid is available once you have set up POS Integration. The Labor Forecast varies based on settings defined for customer facing positions and the number of estimated transactions.
It is important to set up which of your Position are customer facing. The most common of these are Cashiers and Sales Associates. Other positions which spend a portion of their time assisting customers can be mapped later (see Map Positions below).
To set the customer facing settings navigate to the Positions list.
Then click on the Update icon to the left of the position.
Here you will need to ensure that "Is Customer Facing Position" is checked and that you fill out the text box below. Here you will see that the average number of minutes this position spends with each customer is set to 2.5. This number will vary based on the position you are setting up. For example, sales associates may spend more time with customers than cashiers.
Click Save Changes for the settings to take effect. You will now see Labor Forecasting information from the Forecast Grid.
Some Positions spend a portion of their time assisting customers, but not all. In order to set up more accurate forecasting these positions will need to be mapped within the Store Settings.
An Assistant Manager's time is broken down accordingly:
- 75% - Assisting customers on the sales floor
- 5% - Filling in for cashiers
- 20% - Office duties
For labor forecasting purposes you want to include the time they spend on the assisting customers. You do not want to include the time they spend in in the office.
Mapping Assistant Manager
Go to the settings menu and select Positions under Store Settings.
Above the list of positions you will see a button marked Position Mapping. Click on it.
We will start by mapping the time spent on the sales floor. Click on the drop down menu and select Sales Associate.
Then check the box next to Assistant Manager and type in 75 for the Time Factor. Then click Save Changes.
Select Positions under the Store Settings to check the settings you have changed.
The Position list should now have entries for the Mapped Positions columns for Cashier and Sales Associate.
That's it! Now a total of 80% of an Assistant Manage shift will be calculated as customer facing.
