If an employee has lost their password or hasn't received credentials there are a couple of ways to send them their login credentials. This depends on whether they have verified their email address in the system-- or have an email address at all.
1) If the employee has verified their email address in the system you can email them a temporary password that they can change once they log back into the system. To do this first find their employee record. Settings > Store Settings > Employees > Update Employee.
Click on the Login Credentials button under the default Update tab.
Then click on Regenerate Credentials & Email.
The employee will then receive an email link with credentials. They can use this to log in and change their password to something easier to remember.
2) If the employee has not verified their email address in the system you can regenerate their credentials and view or print them via PDF. First open up their employee record. Settings > Store Settings > Employees > Update Employee.
Click on the Login Credentials button under the default Update tab.
This will create and display a PDF file with their login username and password. You can print this out and give it to the employee. When they log in the next time they will be prompted to change their password.
To encourage them to verify their email address you can resend a verification email by clicking on the button under their email record.
3) If the employee does not have an email address you can generate credentials for them within the admin dashboard. To do this first find their employee record. Settings > Store Settings > Employees
Click on the Login Credentials button under the default Update tab.
Then click on Regenerate Credentials & Print.
This will create and display a PDF file with their login username and password. You can print this out and give it to the employee. When they log in the next time they will be prompted to change their password.
