Task Categories
Task categories can be used to organize and filter your tasks. You may categorize these however you wish. The most common way to classify these categories is to sort by task group. A sample list is below.
Create Task Category
To create a task category click on the Create Task Category button above the category list.
You will be presented with creation options. The Name is required and Notes is optional. Be sure to click Save Changes to finalize its creation.
Create Tasks
Tasks
To Create a Task navigate to the Tasks settings by selecting Tasks from the Settings menu at the top right.
You will then be presented with a list of all of your tasks. Click on Create Task above this list.
Fill out the form to create the task.
Name - the name of the task
Task Category - the category you want to assign to the task
Start Time - starting range of the task
End Time - ending range of the task
Description - instructions for the task
Is Assignable to more than one person - YES if you wish for more than one employee to be assigned this task during the same day
Duration - expected time it will take to complete the task
Recurrence -
- ON if it is a reoccurring task. Then you can select recurrence settings like how often the task repeats and on what days. Then set the Range of Recurrence. You can either choose an end date or run the repeat the task indefinitely.
- OFFif it is a one-time only task. Then you can select the Occurrence Date.
Once you are finished be sure to Save Changes. Then navigate to the newly created task and select the Update icon to the left of its name. This will allow you to modify the task in greater detail. You will notice that there are now additional tabs above the general settings you already set. To make sure the task is available to assign to employees, you need to set which stores can use it.
Click on the Stores tab. Then select which stores you want to assign it to.
From the Positions tab you can select which Positions should be allowed to perform the task. You can assign one, or many positions. If a task is to be performed by only a Cashier, for example, then make sure that Cashier is selected. When you go to assign the task the system will display only Cashiers on the assignment list.
On the Exemptions tab you can select what exemptions should be factored into the assignment process. For example, if a task requires heavy lifting then you would make sure that Lifting heavy objects is checked. This way any employee that is assigned that exemption will be omitted from the assignment list.
